Privacy Policy

ChinApps is a free guide and launcher for travellers going to mainland China. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with information. The short version: ChinApps has no account system, no analytics, and no tracking, and it does not collect any personal data.

Information we collect

None. ChinApps does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. There is no sign-up, no login, and no user profile. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking software of any kind, and we do not use third-party SDKs that collect data.

Information stored on your device

The app saves a small amount of information locally so it can remember your preferences between launches. This never leaves your iPhone or iPad, and we cannot see it:

• Which apps you have bookmarked
• Which setup steps you have marked as done
• Your chosen App Store region, if you set one manually
• Whether you have made a donation, so the app can thank you

Deleting ChinApps removes all of it.

Network requests

ChinApps makes only two kinds of network request:

• App artwork. The app asks Apple's public iTunes lookup service for the icon of each app in its catalog. These requests contain an App Store product identifier and a country code. They contain nothing about you.
• Donations. If you choose to make a donation, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment details.

Links to other apps and the App Store

ChinApps helps you open or install other apps. When you tap one, you leave ChinApps and go to that app or to its App Store page. Those apps and services are operated by other companies and are governed by their own privacy policies, not this one. We have no relationship with them and no control over what they do with your information.

Children

ChinApps is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
